Maryland Launches Statewide Advanced Air Mobility Council to Shape Future of Drones and eVTOLs

Maryland Governor Wes Moore has established the Maryland Advanced Air Mobility Council by executive order, positioning the state as an early leader in planning for drones and eVTOL aircraft. The Council is tasked with cataloging Maryland’s existing aviation and infrastructure assets, engaging with industry and local governments, and identifying potential use cases for advanced air mobility, from emergency response to rural connectivity. It will also provide cost assessments and policy recommendations to guide safe and effective integration of these technologies. Meetings are open to the public, reflecting a commitment to transparency and community input as Maryland works to build a roadmap for how advanced air mobility can serve both urban and rural communities.
